Absolutely. The needles are sterile and for one-time use only.
It really depends on each individual. Most acute issues resolve in five to ten treatments, while more treatments are needed for chronic conditions. Benefits of acupuncture are cumulative.
In most cases, patients start to feel a difference after their third treatment; however, in many cases, we’ve seen results after their first treatment. It is very important to follow the treatment plan that is designed for you in order to see results.
Acupuncture is not painful. You may feel a minimal sensation when a very fine sterile needle passes through the skin. Some sensations that are totally common during acupuncture include feelings of heaviness, heat and pressure, though not to the extent of being uncomfortable. A vast majority of patients fall asleep during their treatments!
- Use any one of the following types of heat-resistant containers (pan/pot) for decoction: enameled, glass, stainless steel.
- Preparation: one pack of the herbs (material media) is for one day use.
Place the herbs in the chosen pan or pot and add enough cold water that the herbs are just submerged under the water.
Cook or simmer the herbs for 30 mins.
Pour off the liquid (150 ml), add water once again as above, and repeat the procedure.
Pour off the liquid again and mix it together with the one obtained from the first decoction.
Drink half of the liquid in the morning and the second half in the evening.
30 mins before meal and drink it warm.
